I hope your having a lovely Valentine’s Day! I thought, what better day to post about ordering albums, then a day of LOVE… and I LOVE albums!
I once heard the quote, “All good men and women must take responsibility to create legacies that will take the next generation to a level we could only imagine”. – Jim Rohn.
This little quote stuck with me. We are responsible for the legacy we leave with the next generation. This legacy will leave an impact on them. I’m not talking just about photographs here, there are so many ways we can leave a legacy for the generation after us. Our finances, our words, collections, etc.
I feel as though my parents have done a great job at capturing our family memories and keeping them safe in albums. When we were little, each year on our birthdays we would sit on my parents bed and look at our baby albums! All our pictures from the hospital, to when we were 3 years old are kept in one album. Then there are family albums. These are some of my most prized possessions. I think it is so valuable to print your photo’s. Especially now that we live in a technology based society and most of our pictures are kept on our computers or phones. I’ve heard some couples say that even after 5 years, they still don’t have a wedding album.
I want to be a curator for my family. We don’t have kids yet, but I want to take it upon myself to do the work at keeping our pictures in a safe place, by putting them into albums so that they are organized and easy to access. I want my kids to enjoy looking back at the fun memories we will have.
Let this be an encouragement to you, I haven’t finished my album yet and it’s been 7 months since our wedding! BUT, I did promise myself that I would make one before our 1 year anniversary. Friends. It’s not too late to start now. Start collecting your physical images and digital images into one place, and then go from there on organizing them in which ever way you feel is best! I can promise you, you won’t regret making these.
